A state law adopted in 2025 states that anyone wishing to operate a motorized vessel in Massachusetts waters must now complete an approved boater safety education course and obtain a safe boating card.

The certification requires completing a boater safety course and passing a test.  All operators of motorboats and PWCs are required to carry proof of completion of an approved boater education course while on the water.

CYC is hosting the Coast Guard Auxiliary on June 28 & 29th for an in-person certification class.  Please see your email for details.
