CHATHAM YACHT CLUB SAILING SCHOOL

Sailing School

The Chatham Yacht Club runs a sailing school program with approximately 100 students each year.  We run classes 5 mornings / week for 8 weeks during the summer.

Sailing School registration is broken into four week or eight week options, with classes operating several times a week.  The skills taught throughout the summer are sequential and best suited for sailors who plan to attend all classes rather than dropping in for a few weeks. 

Our youngest sailors begin sailing in Beetlecats and progress to Optis, Sunfish, Lasers or 420s.

The CYC Sailing School is available for children ages 7 and up.

Adult Sailing Programs

The Adult Sailing class is offered to adult CYC members (21+ years of age).  Classes generally offer a Monday afternoon or Saturday morning option and run for 8 weeks concurrently with our Sailing School program.

Classses are taught by CYC volunteer adult members in loaned Beetle Cats, 14-foot Catboats, and Sunfish, where and when applicable.
