Code of Conduct
The primary mission of Chatham Yacht Club is teaching sailing, promoting sailboat racing, and developing a community of sailors and their families. We are committed to making sure that all members, guests and staff feel respected and encouraged to participate in sailing, racing and social events.
Membership in the Chatham Yacht Club and participation in club events should be seen as a privilege. Members are responsible for maintaining the good name of the club and shall do nothing to tarnish its reputation as an inclusive and welcoming organization.
The purpose of the Code of Conduct is to ensure a safe and friendly environment in which all members demonstrate respect for themselves, peers, staff, and volunteers.

Members are required to pay for the repair or replacement of any club or sailing school property lost, damaged, or destroyed by that member, his or her family, or by their guest. Chatham Yacht Club shall not be responsible for any loss and or damage to a member’s property left or kept on the premises.
Any complaints related to this Code of Conduct should be communicated to a Flag Officer. The Flag Officers reserve the right to respond to any violation of the Code of Conduct with measures determined appropriate by Flag Officers to maintain the Code of Conduct, which may include suspension or termination of membership in their discretion.
All staff, members and guests agree to honor this Code of Conduct as well as the fundamental rules of fair sailing.
