Teaching Love of Sailing on Pleasant Bay Since 1921
August 4, 2023
IT'S HERE - The most anticipated weekend of the season!
The 102nd CYC Regatta on Pleasant Bay
We look forward to seeing everyone who has registered for our Commodore's Dinner! For those who purchased their dinner ticket to include the open bar, we will be handing out wrist bands for identification purposes. We have a record number of attendees and will see you under the tent in your Beach Chic best!
As a reminder, the CYC parking area is in the '3rd' lot of Eastward Ho! nearest the chipping green. If these spaces are full, please park along Fox Hill Road in the traditional manner. To ease congestion, please carpool or better yet, try ride sharing like Uber!
As always, safety is paramount as we balance convenience and consideration for a shared parking resource with our friends at Eastward Ho!
Our path to CYC takes us right in front of the 1st Tee. An average golf ball leaves the tee traveling 115 mph or more. Adults and children need to take care as they cross in front. Eastward Ho! has provided a fence to protect us. CYC members should stop at the edge of the fence, look and assess the situation. Always wait while golfers are teeing off, but if the golfers are waiting, they may signal it is safe to cross. Be aware as you approach the ninth green as well, since it is just beyond our path.
Please wear shirts and shoes when crossing the hill, and do not use your cell phone. It is best to be quiet when golfers are on the 9th green. You may stop and wait, or move quietly by, but try not to distract those focusing on their putts.

Thank you all again for agreeing to patrol the CYC Regatta this weekend. As a volunteer event, the Regatta truly would not happen without your involvement. Thank you!
Patrol Meetings will be held 8:00am on Saturday morning and before the Saturday afternoon races.
Finally, while each of you have been assigned to one Line during the Regatta or one shift per day, you are welcome to patrol during the other shifts each day. Just coordinate with us and we can direct you to where the need is greatest.
