THE SEASON IS UPON US!

We are returning to the tradition of opening and cleaning up the Clubhouse and Grounds this Memorial Day Weekend - Please join us.

Thank you to everyone who turned out to help Bart clean out the basement during our recent waterline replacement project. We can not function without our volunteers!

If you can make it, bringing rakes, basic cleaning supplies or basic hand-tools are appreciated! It will be wonderful to have the community together and kicking off our One Hundred and First season! All hands are appreciated!

Gather at the Clubhouse at 12:30pm, Sunday the 29th.

Operation "Rainy Day" in effect for Sailing School

Operation "RAINY DAY PLAN" is in effect for today's Sailing School.

Bring your rain gear!

Classes will be conducted on shore, in the club house, basement or under tents.

If unvaccinated, your child is required to wear a mask.

Vaccinated sailors should bring a mask in case the situation makes this advisable

As always, if you are uncomfortable with your child participating in proximity to others in an enclosed area, keeping them home is a good idea.

We have all sorts of lesson plans accumulated over decades of pre-covid bad weather days, with friendly contributions coming in every week. We look forward to adapting and overcoming the latest weather and COVID challenges with your help.

The week of Centennial Festivities has begun! This past week saw our annual Sailing School Picnic and CYC Sailors competing in Opti and 420 regattas after almost a two year Covid hiatus. This week brings the Leo J. Telesmanick Championship Centennial Regatta (come join us on the Bay!) Followed by CYC hosting the team race championships and our own Centennial Gala and Regatta. It's exhausting thinking of the fun of it all.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! Please find an opportunity that works for you. We depend on volunteers to get the job done.

Because we canceled the Saturday afternoon races of the regatta, we need to run a make-up race for the Saturday season series this week.

There will be TWO races this Saturday as part of the Saturday series. Race will begin at 1pm. This is the LAST day for 420s.

In order to let your child get onto the water in a sailboat, CYC needs your completed medical forms. Make sure to download the form here, print it, fill it out, and bring it to sailing school on the first day of class, one for each student.

NEW CYC WEBSITE OPENING SOON

For the 2016 season, after substantial research and discussion, we are enhancing our website presence by moving to a software platform for non-profit organizations called Wild Apricot.

This new platform allows us to start to provide more online services such as calendars and a searchable membership directory. We're hoping it will improve our membership and sailing school registration. It also allows us to easily send email messages to all members or to select groups within in our membership. Social events and regattas can be entered so members and guests can register and pay if applicable.

There are many more features of the system and we are just getting started. We hope the experience we provide continues to keep pace with modern times and we welcome suggestions and thoughts.

If you run into problems, please don't hesitate to contact Paul Lamoreux at webmaster@chathamyachtclub.org.

We will be sending an email soon to let you know when registration opens!
