Regatta Information

Covid Statement: Fully vaccinated individuals will not need to wear a face covering or social distance indoors or outdoors at Chatham Yacht Club but may do so at their own discretion.  Non-vaccinated individuals are advised to continue wearing facemasks and to continue distancing indoors.  Employees who are not fully vaccinated will be required to wear masks indoors.  Chatham Yacht Club staff will continue to follow established best practices with regard to hygiene and sanitation protocols. CYC will not be serving self-serve refreshments after the races.

Rigging and Launch – Rigging and launching will take place at one or more of three sites -  Round Cove (primary), Quanset Pond (overflow), and Ryder’s Cove (only if necessary), Service will be provided to tow boats from these locations to the club. 

NOTE: Sailors will be asked to indicate on the registration form when they plan to arrive and will then be directed to a launch site. At the awards ceremony, we will organize departures.

CYC Regatta Driving Instructions:   

To Round Cove Launching Ramp:

  • Take Route 6 – the Mid-Cape Highway to Exit 85 (old Exit 11);
  • Turn left at the stoplight at the end of the off ramp (onto Route 137);
  • Take an immediate left onto Pleasant Bay Road;
  • Follow Pleasant Bay Road until it dead ends on Route 28 (you will have to cross 
  • Route 39 first at a stop sign);
  • Turn right towards Chatham on Route 28;
  • Take an immediate left onto Cove Landing Road – which goes down into Round Cove.

Round Cove to Monomoy Middle School for trailer parking:

  • At top of hill leaving Round Cove, turn left on Route 28 towards Chatham;
  • 1.93 mi – Right on Crowell Road (at the top of the hill after Ryder’s Cove);
  • 0.62 mi - Monomoy Middle School, 425 Crowell Rd, will be on the right – please park in the last parking lot on the right (after the building entrance) - starting with the first spaces.

Round Cove to Eastward Ho!/Chatham YC (Chatham YC is located on the grounds of the EH golf club):

  • At top of hill leaving RC, turn left onto Route 28;
  • 1.0 mi – left on Fox Hill Road;
  • 1.7 mi – left at last entrance to Eastward Ho! (park in far right parking area or on the road);
  • After you park, you will walk over the hill to CYC.  No talking on cell phones is allowed. Please be courteous to the golfers, as they have right of way.

Trailer parking – There is no overnight parking at any of the launch sites.

Trailers at the Monomoy Regional Middle School – you may want to lock your trailer.

Moorings – No moorings are available at the club, but anchorage along the shore in front of the club is available. This is a fairly protected anchorage.

We recommend bringing a second heavier anchor with a buoy to leave in the water as your mooring while you are racing.

Launch service – Shuttle service will be available to and from anchored boats on Saturday and Sunday.

Tent - There will be a tent and extra bathrooms (port-a-potties) throughout the weekend.

Spectators – The races can be watched from the CYC deck. There may also be spaces on patrol boats.

Overnight accommodations – There are many motels within a short distance of the club, and attempts will be made to accommodate sailors in private homes as available.

Car Parking – 1(-2) per boat – Limited parking is available in the CYC parking area of the Eastward Ho! parking lot and also along Fox Hill Road near the club.

Racing: Races will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday.  Last start will not be later than 4:00 pm, depending on the weather.  Sunday start will be at 9:30 am and the last start will be no later than 12:00 pm. The courses will be held in Pleasant Bay near the clubhouse. Pleasant Bay has protected water with very little current.


T-shirts will be provided for skipper and crew (indicate sizes on Event Registration form).

Extra t-shirts and regatta hats are available for preorder.


  • Breakfast:  Saturday and Sunday: Coffee and continental breakfast will be provided in the CYC Clubhouse.
  • Lunch: Saturday and Sunday: Box lunches will be provided for all sailors, race committee, and patrol personnel.
  • NEBCBA Meeting and Centennial Celebration Dinner Saturday night July 31 (Cathy Taylor’s home close to CYC) – Catered (see Event Registration form) Please join us under the tent for a grand celebration of 100 years of Beetle Cat sailboats!
New England Clambake
When: Saturday, July 31, 2021, 6PM.
Where: Taylor Home – 86 Old Salt Works Road, North Chatham, MA (one mile east of Chatham Yacht Club). Directions: Continue on Fox Hill Rd. past Eastward Ho! Country Club. Turn left (comes up quickly) on to Strong Island Rd.. First right on to Bassing Harbor Rd.. First right onto Old Salt Works Rd. #86 is 8 houses down on right hand side.  Park in street and walk to tent on water side of house.
