 The Sailing School Program Director occupies a fulltime position and is expected to be on duty whenever Sailing School is in session, races are being conducted, or special events are being held beginning Monday, June 26th, and ending Sunday, August 20th. S/He is expected to plan and direct staff preparations of the CYC facilities one week prior to class start (June 18 th ). She is expected to attend Executive Committee Meetings unless they conflict with other Sailing School obligations. The Sailing School Program Director is expected to work with the Flag Officers and Sailing School Administrators on offseason planning. She will meet with the Flag Officers to determine days or halfdays off. The Sailing School Program Director may also be called to duty in the event of storms or other emergencies. The Sailing School Program Director should be available, when possible, for offhours telephone calls for administrative matters as well as in emergencies. The Sailing School Program Director in encouraged to race on Tuesdays and Saturdays if she is not otherwise needed to assist with running the races. She will also be expected to assist as needed with running the CYC regatta and other CYC hosted events. Expected from a full time position is an average of 40 hrs /wk.

The Sailing School Program Director is responsible for running the daily activities of the Sailing School program. The Sailing School Program Director is specifically responsible for overseeing the lesson planning and instruction of the Crew, Opti I,II, & III, Helmsman, Recreational Seaman and Helmsman classes, and the Racing Skippers race team. The Sailing School Program Director works with the Vice Commodore and the Sailing School Administrator(s) to implement the Sailing School program. The Sailing School Program Director reports directly to the Flag Officers.

The Sailing School Program Director, under the supervision of the Fleet Captain, is responsible for the proper care and maintenance of all boats and equipment used by CYC, including loaned sail and powerboats as well as those owned by CYC.

The Sailing School Program Director is responsible for all safety measures.

The Sailing School Program Director shares with the Racing Program Director responsibility for assisting the Race Committee, running the Sailing School races, and supervising the Junior Race Committee as well as any team racing and special racing events.

The Sailing School Program Director assists in the care and maintenance of the clubhouse, grounds, and equipment.

The Sailing School Program Director should discuss any major expenditure with the Flag Officers.

RACE COACH

The Racing Program Director occupies an eightweek full time position beginning Monday, June 26th, and ending Sunday, August 20th, and is expected to prepare the 420 fleet and be available for clubhouse preparation and maintenance one week prior to the start of class (June 18). It is a full time position with an expected average 40 hr work week.

The Racing Program Director reports to the Sailing School Program Director and FlagOfficers. S/he is responsible for coaching the Racing Skippers class and Racing Team, and when not at away regattas to work with the racing Helmsman class. Together with the Sailing School Director, the Racing Program Director is responsible for running the sailing school races on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The Race Program Director is responsible for communicating with the team and parents about regattas,  planning the logistics of regatta travel and equipment, and coaching at various 420 regattas.

The Racing Program Director assists the Sailing School Program Director in the care and maintenance of all boats and equipment used by CYC.

The Racing Program Director helps to establish a culture of safety and respect for the sea.

The Sailing School Program Director shares with the Racing Program Director responsibility for assisting the Race Committee, running the Sailing School races, and supervising the Junior Race Committee as well as any team racing and special racing events.

The Racing Program Director secures the CYC premises, boats, and equipment with the Sailing School Program Director and helps in the care and maintenance of the clubhouse,grounds, and equipment whenever on duty.
